I’ve always loved the fall season; the cool crisp air, the changing leaves; bonfires, scarves, boots, & all things pumpkin! So, when my husband and I found out the gender of our baby, in the late summer, I knew I wanted to incorporate the upcoming fall season in our gender reveal announcement.

We announced our baby’s gender at the beginning of October on Facebook. My husband and I took a picture of us holding a small blue pumpkin with the caption, “Our Little Pumpkin is a … BOY!”

My baby shower was set for the weekend before Thanksgiving week, and I fell in love with the idea of having a fall themed baby shower. I wanted to carry that blue pumpkin idea into the baby shower theme.

Now, my mother and mother-in-law were the ones actually throwing the shower for me. Although, they both know I love the decorating aspect of party planning, so when it came to decorations, favors, and the overall theme; they told me to do whatever I wanted! =) Mayyybe it’s because I can be a bit of a control freak too 😣… BUT I’d like to think it’s just because they know I love everything about party planning – especially the decorating, and bringing a theme together in every aspect of a party.☺️

When I started looking for decoration ideas I went to Michael’s, and I was so excited when I walked in and saw a ton of blue pumpkins! There was dark blue, light blue, teal, and beige; all perfectly incorporated with each other on wreaths and garland. I knew right then and there – this was going to be my baby shower decoration! It was so beautiful and had a rustic elegance to it! …AND it was all 70% off!! I filled almost 3 carts full of faux pumpkins, garland, burlap rolls, floral bundles, burlap ribbon, etc. To say the least I went crazy filling the carts, I mean…70% off!? You definitely can’t go wrong! AND it was all perfect for my fall themed baby shower idea!

Once I had my decorations bought, I moved onto favors. I searched a whole bunch of sites until I came across The Dancing Wick Candle Company on Etsy. The candles were so cute, and they were in mason jars! The printed picture on the front went absolutely perfect with the theme idea I had in mind. I read reviews, and everyone seemed to be raving about these candles, so I decided to order – and I’m SO glad I did!

The candles smelled amazing, and they were just as cute in person, as they were in the pictures! Working with the owner, Monika, was such a joy! She was so accommodating, and went above and beyond each time I had a question or needed a change on my proof. When I wanted to see if we could fit my husband’s name on the label, she not only did it for me, but also sent me 3 different proof options to choose from! Absolutely awesome. (By the way, she makes all kinds of candles and candle favors for every occasion! Definitely check out her site- The Dancing Wick Candle Company)

In addition to helping with changes on the label, I really wanted to use her images of the pumpkins and flowers she had on the candle label in order to make signs/tags for games at my shower. That way I’d be able to keep the images consistent between the favors, games, and basically all paper products used at the shower. So, I went ahead and asked Monika if she would share those images with me, and without any hesitation she sent me her image files AND told me the font names she used as well on the label. To say the least, I was pumped!

So, thanks to Monika, from The Dancing Wick Candle Company, I was able to make beautiful Game Signs, Entry Tags&Forms, Advice Cards, and Table Numbers, with beautiful images !

As for the actual day of, my vision of a fall themed baby shower had come to life! Everything turned out amazing. I was even told there was a buzz all around the restaurant amongst the employees, about the decorations. Workers and other servers were coming into the basement (where my shower was) to see the decorations! I LOVE that. It’s so rewarding, and flattering, when others enjoy seeing what I love doing and what I’m passionate about – literally makes my day – and days to come! ☺️ Haha!

Below are a few pictures of decorations and games. – Sorry about the lighting and quality of the photos – it was dim lighting in the restaurant.
